The winner of our Lute Raffle was Catherine Hamilton of Lilydale. She won a beautiful 7 course Renaissance Lute build by South Australian Luthier Tim Guster. Money raised from the raffle went to support the Lilydale Fire Brigade. The raffle was drawn by Fire Chief Dave Cleaver who is seen below with raffle winner, Catherine Hamilton.
First prize in the Kids Draw-A-Lute Competition was Tom Giddings (7 years old) of Fern Tree who received his prize donated by Fuller's Bookshop . Picture shows Luthier Tim Guster and Rev. Amanda Nicholas of the Lilydale Uniting Church, comparing the lute built at the festival with the winning drawing.
Although there was originally only one prize in the Art Competition it was decided to award a second prize to Jack Pelle Eastmand for his imaginative drawing of lutes that seem to be flying, like clouds, in the sky. Dymocks Bookshop in Hobart have kindly donated this prize.
